Before we could say "diamond is a girls bestfriend" there was Barbie then.

Every little girls childhood memory of fashion started out with owning a Barbie doll.

Celebrating her 50 years of existence, fashion week paid tribute to her and was lucky enough to be invited at the Grand Finale of Dubai Fashion Week last year - i enjoyed it so much!

So much for associating Barbie with color PINK - after the collaboration with Christian Louboutin and Commes de Garcon last year, Barbie invades the art world with monumental images that the world admires.

Legally Blonde

I am going "legally blonde" tonight!

It's been 4 years now since I last dyed my hair blonde . . . Reason behind it, is that my husband does not agree in coloring my hair anything but black or dark brown . . . Since my birthday is coming up I can get away with anything so a touch of light golden color like what Leighton has can add up to my birthday wish. It looks great on her but I am not sure it would look good on me :)

what's with the bow tie

goodmorning ladies! 1st working day of the week for most ...

Born in the 80's but my mom told me I might had a past life sometime during the 40's to 60's, because I'm inlove & passionate with how the women dresses up during this era (that's how they tease me back home). While my mom wears gladiator heels, cropped bf jeans, moderrn cut dress & colorful watches, here I am trying to convert and re-live the fashion of the 40's.

For our 1st date, I am wearing an oversized white shirt, stradivarius; layered black skirt, zara; cinched the shirt with a black belt, ferragamo (which I own for 13 years now); black bow sling back heels, charles & keith; maroon handbag, YSL; and my custom made bow tie, by yours truly (it's a sneak peek on what to expect in MY STRAWBERRY SHOP).

Keep it simple on the make-up, basic black eye liner to create an illussion that my eyes are not chinky, the line at my lower lid is half black and half white. A red lipstick to match my toe nails & bag. Try to look into your closet and take advantage of the weather as this the only time you can layer up.

I love to overdress at the start of the week, it's like my dose of career vitamins. I guess a hat will be on my next list for a re-run of this outfit and get the feel of a TRUE HOLLYWOOD GLAM!

I decided to be more active in the blog scene as a new year resolution, with my everyday workwear outfit instead of reviews... I'm just trying to figure out the perfect spot where no one will see me camwhoring and I can pull off a perfect shot. Our date starts tomorrow and I have ransacked my closet to find the hidden pieces I almost forgot having them. Managed to prepare what I'll be wearing for this week only, the night was too short to actually go in to every clothes I wore.

2009 was a roller coaster ride, I got through it though... along the way I met new friends, got a new job, knew myself well, discovered who are my true friends, bonded & a stronger relationship with GOD, appreciated small details, a breakthrough for my passion for fashion and loved my husband even more! So to 2010, I'm ready for you coz I have my GOD with me through this journey.

I made a more realistic and do'able resolution rather than the usual (",)

Review: Sweet Stuff

Having a sweet tooth gives me the cravings for desserts and one of my favorites are cupcakes, though I know how to bake them there would be times that I am just too tired to bake and needed a sugar booster immidiately. Last night, I just had noodles for dinner so a sugar delight would be a treat.

Timeout Dubai did a feature on this new cupcake store in Jumeirah called SWEET STUFF... It's very easy to find coz its right next to The One store and Roadster Diner. We came 9.30pm and they closed at 10pm so there were only a few selections left. I ordered the usual "Red Velvet" and "Carrot Cupcake".

TASTE: The red velvet lacks that "red velvety" taste I got used to with Sugar Daddy, but their sponge is moist so its okay and I recommend this for those who are not into sweets but would like to experience a cupcake. Looooooooveeee the Carrot Cupcake, as I said the sponge is moist so it tastes really good plus the icing "heaven yum". Will definitely go back and taste other flavors.

VENUE: It's pink & very dainty... They have wall paintings made by a friend of the owner and if you want to buy some of her paintings her contact details are there. The staff is very friendly, she was so accomodating to answer all our questions about this and that! :)

Oh and they also sell candies from the U.S. like tootsie roll (6 AED), bazooka joe (12 AED a box), nerds (12 aed a box) and more... So if you don't want the crowded Dubai Mall to get some candies, try to visit Sweet Stuff.

Got to love my husband for spoiling me weeks before my birthday :) last week I had a shopping spree for an hour as time limit was the condition but it was fun and favoring him was that I am dead tired from work so I kinda' finished in like 45 mins all spent in H&M. No matter if 4ever 21, new look & bershka was calling my name, I feel like embracing my bed already. Then yesterday I got to shop for my "birthday dress" - well it's a catsuit like what Anne is wearing and been looking for one in topshop but it was from their previous collection so no chance to get it. Luckily forever21 has something like it and i loooove it coz its something I know will not go out of fashion and its black so it can be for day or night.





Thinking of having brunch for my birthday, still checking out on good outdoor restau as venue.

Fabulous & Sexy at 50

My mom turned 50 last year and she is fabulous than ever. If men got their 40's I guess women has a sudden turn at the age of 50, wherein they feel better about themself and wants to be as fashionable as before they got married & had kids. In my theory a possible reason would be that her children are all graduates and has their own families and she has all the time for herself.

1st was the boyfriend jeans and now man shoes! Of the two, I love the manly bling on my feet which is mostly known as oxfords or wingtip. Call it crazy but they are perfect match for shorts or cropped jeans. So once you get your hands in one of them, make sure to keep 'em 'cause you'll never know maybe your daughter/grand daughter will enjoy hand me down vintage from their fashionable grannys :)

Dreaming is the only FREE thing in this world and today after lunch break I had daydreams of Victoria Beckhams SS/10 and AW/09 collection. It was on the news a couple of weeks back that a truck of VB clothes for Neiman Marcus was stolen! :( how sad... Each dresses cost approximately 1795 USD - 2995 USD at http://www.netporter.com/

Queen SJP herself aka Carrie Bradshaw is spotted in a hot pink mini at the London premiere of her latest flick with Hugh Grant "Have you heard about the Morgans?". After the hit movie of SATC series, SJP is back on the rom-com film... Let's see if her Carrie charms works in this movie, I have not seen it yet but I will definitely do a blog on it.
