a birthday wish

The past couple of weeks is mixed business & pleasure "busy-bee" for hubby & me, nevertheless its productive and a good way to start 2010.

December to January are the celebrating months for me, aside from christmas and new year my birthday falls a week after 1st jan... So every time I feel my birthday is somehow a few weeks to count I literally get excited and always have that "happy" feeling. I dont know why but since I was a kid I have always been way way way excited about getting older (",) Anyway, it's a tradition to write a wish list, it may come true or not I am just happy that I'll be a year older and a year wiser.

A good friend of ours is going back to manila to get married and she wont be back till march. Sad but she's at her happiest when she finally sees her soon to be hubby after 2 years of not seeing each other... awwwww! the sacrifice of long distance relationship... been there and every minute spent is PRICELESS!!! We treated her out along with her sisters to Stonehouse Grill at Gold Diamond Park, which you should try plus their crew are such a darling... 2 thumbs up for the food and service.

i missed blogging and of course my fellow bloggers, lately didn't have time to do this as i am swamped with work and christmas shopping :( and i got sick few days back becoz of the change of weather. So today, we decided not to miss the rain and the cold weather outside so we head out to deliver orders to my beautiful customers - mavic, tam and of course met up with anna which i enjoyed our chat as usual. Then off to burjuman for the runway art fashion show. Had a very bad dinner at an italian cafe & restau :( i soooo love italian food but the dish we ordered didn't impress me at all and i ended up eating again when we got home.

clinton & shakespeare

Hon & i went to watch a play on Shakespeare last 1st week of november but with a twist of comedy in madinat jumeirah. Had a quick bite at noodle house then off to the play. It was fun & a new experience but didn't like it much as some jokes are a bit lame and I gues asian's as myself has a different level of sense of humor compare to british comedy.

But the best thing about this day was BILL CLINTON... While waiting for teo at one of the souvenir shops upon stepping out I actually got to experience a face to face with the ex US president Bill Clinton - no pictures though - my cam was with teo and I find it embarassing if I use my blackberry to take a pic hahaha :) so I guess the memory of seeing in person this white haired, humble & influential man will do for now.

art of letting go

Here in Dubai most women are under-priveleged with living space so having a walk-in closet especially for expats are so impossible. We just have to live with what we have and be creative to accomodate all the hauls & addiction to shoes, bags, accessories & clothes. But for me, I have learned to embrace the art letting go :( for us girls everything we own are priceless no matter if it is a non designer price tag, we could not just let go which our partners or men generally would not understand and we speak of words such as...

• I might get thin and this _ _ _ could still fit


• This could be perfect in some occassion "in the future"


• Oh no! I used this dress when I met my husband


• These are my lucky _ _ _

I know how difficult to let go of our so called "possessions" but since I started joining flea markets, I realized that "letting go" is not that bad. But of course with a dollar $$$$ sign in my eyes. So from last year I have disposed all the items which I have not used for more than a year and made room in my closet for upcoming good buys plus I earned extra CASH.

Just looking at these photos makes me drool and want want want one... oh i miss my manila home!

organized & obsessed

Feeling "martha stewart" lately, why? I am obsessed with this ikea krus plastic containers. I bought around 4 initially to organize our pantry and see how it goes - that was yesterday and today instead of having my lunch I drove to ikea and bought like more than a dozen of them. In different sizes and for all sorts of functions. call me crazy but they are like pringles "once you pop you can't stop"... Now I am hooked with organizing, not that I am not organized but the O.C type, like per color and function.

Here are some of the O.C. dilemma I did:

• Organized the sweetener per color - pink, blue & yellow


• Created a baking box - yes all the ingredients I use for baking has its own box


• Pasta, beans, glutenous rice, sugar, flour and more has its own sealed container


• Labelled everything

My next project will be our closet, I am still thinking whether to get a new one this week and get shelves that I can classify the clothes per color or per design hmmmm I'll keep you all posted. By the way I have convinced hubby to get a new bed yey! we spent 2 hours in the bedroom section of ikea just to see and scrutinize all their bed frames and we ended up not buying one haha... i want to see the other stores like INDEX, Homes r' us, Home center or Pan emirates and see if they have some good stuff i might want. But it will definitely be finished this week, coz the painting job is ON for Friday. I'm excited to have a great time painting the house with honey...

me time

it was a well deserved pamper day for me! a very busy week and major cleaning of our home. decided to visit nail spa (dubai mall) - my favorite mini get away... i feel very at ease and at home coz their staff are soooo friendly, excellent service, facilities are top class and they make you feel like a new born after their treatments. once you step out, it's like no one can make me mad for an hour with the feeling of lightness & i'm fully calm.

my murdered nails from re-organizing and major cleaning of our home... huhuhu! but thanks to nail spa they are revived :)

had a french mani & pedi, full arms & leg wax, eyebrows & head neck massage... a total bliss! lunch with hubby at organic food & cafe - spaghetti bolognese with brown bread & stir fried tofu with brown rice. yum...

wore a forever 21 tube floral dress, to give it a new look i wore a white tank top underneath, neverfull bag and white sandals from urban behavior which 2 of my friends have the same exact color and style :) love em.

Ended the day with a taro milk tea, which we went all the way to outlet mall just to get 1. For asians these are a treat with the pearls hmmmmm nirvana!

twilight

I am as excited as everyone else with TWILIGHT - NEW MOON premiere getting closer. Few more days to go and we will be getting some Edward & Jacob delight "awww"...








All set for Thursday:

• Purchased tickets for 26th november at 8pm in Dubai Festival City.


• An outfit to wear for the movie - peep toe flats, soft pink top, soft pink scarf, quilted flap bag and black tutu skirt.


• Dinner date with my friends, maybe some italian lovin' would be good, johnny carinos or romanos macaroni grill?!?

I also joined ahlan live's competition online for a vip premiere of twilight on wednesday... crossing my fingers i get to win and watch it twice.

Yes they arrived the other day (",) seeing the eyes glow of my favorite shoppers after fitting them, i can relate coz i had the same reaction after seeing 20 pairs of beautiful heels & booties in my room. i actually disposed 12 shoes which i have not used for almost a year just to make room for my new booties and pumps... LOVE LOVE LOVE! happy winter
